History

Inuzuka Kiba's father took off, leaving Tsume (Kiba's mother) to raise both him and his older sister, Hana, when Kiba was only seven. Family comes first in the Inuzuka household, a value that needn't be drilled into their heads, but had come to be an unwritten law on it's own accord. After his father left Kiba wanted nothing to do with him, holding the man as lower than dirt in his eyes.

Unlike most, Kiba never wants to be reunited with his father.

Tsume continued to work, not only to support the family, but to put Hana through vet school. They'd lived from dollar to dollar, instilling a solid work ethnic in the youngest Inuzuka. Nothing in this world was handed to you, and it never will be. If you want it, go get it- no matter the cost. If you fail, don't worry, your family will always be there to get you back on your feet. Kiba lived life like any child would, with reckless abandon and in awe of the world around him. After every fall Hana, or his mother would pick him up. Like the time he'd fallen off of the monkey bars and broke his nose. Hana always looked like she'd stopped breathing, but both she and his mother would dust him off and send him on his way.

He grew up with that solid support, and returned the favor ten fold when he could.

Kiba's continuing childhood was spent surrounded by family and the dogs that were associated with it.

After graduating and working at the veterinary clinic a few blocks from their small home, Hana had gotten into a habit of brining home dogs that had been brought in from animal control. One dog, Kuromaru, had been abandoned when animal control came across him. Missing an eye he'd been brought in to get sewn up and eventually adopted out. Kiba would never forget when Hana's pick up drove up into the driveway with the dog in the bed. Kuromaru had always scared Kiba as a child, even now he's almost overly respectful of his mother's dog, for what reason he's never been sure.

Soon after Kuromaru came three more dogs. Hana claimed them as her own and, thankfully, they were easy enough for Kiba to get along with. Then Akamaru came into the picture. The dog had come in as a malnourished puppy. Hana brought him home. As history would have it, Kiba and Akamaru had taken quite nicely to one another. However, over the years, Akamaru had gone from a scrawny Great Pyrenees puppy, into a full sized pre-teen.(In dog years that is.)

After completing middle school Kiba had been accepted into Konoha no Gakuen as a scholarship student. He'd been avid in his studies despite his less than apt talent in school work. It was his way of giving back to his family in a sense, pulling his own weight through and through, wether it be through scholarships or hard work. It had been a stressful, but enjoyable journey he wouldn't trade for anything.

There was a bit of a problem when he'd discovered animals were not allowed on the grounds of his new school, however. Kiba had managed to break a few rules along the lines of animals on campus. First by sneaking the enormous dog into the school in an over sized luggage bag, hiding him in his dorm room until his particularly difficult roommate had threatened to reveal him to the Super. After which, Kiba had moved the dog out onto the grounds and proceeded to hide him off by the school tennis courts- visiting every day, of course, to give him food, water, and attention.

At the school Kiba had been reunited with some old friends, made some new ones, and established a few enemies along the way.

Two friends in particular, Tenten and Naruto Uzumaki, had completed an interesting sort of buddy trio. Between the copious amounts of sexual tension that marked Kiba's friendship with Tenten (His inability to hold onto his hormones being at the center of blame.) and the knockabout acts with Naruto, it was easy to say his high school experience was everything but normal.

His relationship with his roommate grew more and more skewed as the years went on. Kiba hasn't seen him since his roommate graduated.

Soccer had been a huge part of Kiba's high school career. A love for the sport sticks with him to this day.

In Kiba's senior year of high school he'd joined with a shelter as a volunteer in Animal Rescue in order to get some community service under his belt for college. Through a few scholarships and some college funds Kiba had finally made it. After a year at the shelter he'd taken up a job cleaning cages, walking dogs, and being on food duty in order to help pay for college.
